Early March - Were installing our Talking Label Readers in area stores. These Readers are hand-held devices that speak in a clear voice, describing products that the shopper selects, enabling visually impaired folks to be more independent while shopping. April - Watch for our booths at the Channel 9 Health Fair in Buena Vista on April 14 and in Salida on April 21. We'll have literature and demonstrations of helpful devices for the visually impaired. We are proud supporters of the Health Fair every year.
May - Our Sixth Annual Spring Fundraiser dinner is May 3 this year, featuring beef stroganoff and vegetarian cuisines, with all the trimmings plus entertainment and a silent auction. The silent auction traditionally is a high point of the evening, featuring many valuable items donated by area merchants and private individuals. May 3 at the American Legion Hall, 338 North Railroad, Buena Vista.

August - In August, the Low Vision Center will have a booth at Gold Rush Days, on Main Street in Buena Vista. We'll again demonstrate visual aids and distribute literature helpful to the visually impaired and their families.
